Poplar creek baptist church Leadership

Poplar creek baptist church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Stan Jenkins

Pastor

Pastor Stan was elected to serve as the pastor of Poplar Creek in March, 2025. Prior to that, he served as the interim pastor of Poplar creek for 7 months. Pastor Stan retired as pastor of Tabbs Creek Baptist in Oxford, in April, 2022. He served there for 7 years.

The attributes that best describe Pastor Stan as a pastor are strong preaching, leadership development and counseling. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Poplar Creek Baptist, where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ.

Pastor stan is an avid golfer and loves to smoke meat on his Traeger smoker.

He graduated from Campbell University Divinity School in 2002 with a master's degree in Christian Education. He received a B.A. Degree in History from Gardner-Webb University in 1975.

Pastor Stan has been happily married for 48 years to his wife, Melody L. Jenkins. They have one child, Wendy J. Cox, and one grandson, Will Jordan.

His vision for Poplar Creek centers around four key objectives:

1. Exalt the Savior (worship)
